Cruise Director

Duties but not limited to the following.

Managing:
Deckhands & Boat Cruises & Onsite Events.
Scheduling:
Deckhands.
Upkeep:
Ship’s interior decks, bathrooms, windows, galley, bars and open spaces.
Stocking:
Food, Beverages & Dry Goods.
Deliveries:
Ensuring that delivery of goods is inspected, signed for and put away.
Inventories:
Preparing product inventories on weekly basis such as Food, Beverage, Linens, Cleaning supplies, dry goods, bar cups, bar items, etc.
Event Outline:
Setting up & tearing down tables & customized floor plans for each event.
Client Liaison:
Prior to, during and immediately following event.
Expectations:
Ensuring that the boat is well maintained and is at its highest level of presentation at all times.
Ensuring that the crew are fully trained in food & beverage services; that the team is briefed on their duties and expectations prior to each cruise and that the crew are professional in customer service and in their appearance.
Ensuring that all timelines in the FA are met & executed.
Ensuring that the customer experience is excellent at all times.
Operational Checklist must be followed for every cruise.
Mandatory:
Safety Day Training & bi-weekly safety training days held on the boat.
Certifications:
Smart Serve of Ontario.
Food Handlers
Skills required:
Great communication, organization and very detailed approach is required. Able to work with, motivate a crew of 20+ & lead them by example.
Experience in a Catering, Restaurant or Pub environment.
Other:
45 day contract to start which may move into full time seasonal.
References in a similar environment are required.

Food Servers | Deckhands

Responsible for:
Prior to Event:
Set up to include décor, place settings, linens, napkins & general maintenance.
Buffet Set up to include linens, chafers, plates, serving utensils & roll ups.
Galley to include assistance with food prep or cash food galleys.
Coffee & Tea Service to include brewing of coffee and tea and setting up stations.
Bar Stocking to include beverages, cups, napkins, bottle booth, etc.
Cross-reference planner & prep for event.
During Event:
Catered Food Serving to include Buffet, Cocktail & Plated style service.
Cash Food Galleys to include cooking & selling food items to guests.
Bottle Service to include maintaining the booth & servicing orders on the decks.
Bussing to include tables, decks, galley & dishwashing.
Bar-backing to include running products to all bars & maintaining pop & juice lines.
Liaison with guests & Ensure Guest Safety according to Marine Safety Procedures.
Identify and report any unsafe issues to Cruise Director.
Report any unruly guests or guests that show signs of Intoxication to Security.
Following Event:
Tear down events to include removal of décor, place settings, linens and napkins.
General clean up following events to include removal and storage of tables & chairs, Floors, Bathrooms, Galley & Dishwashing Pit.
Stocking dry goods, bars & galley.
Garbage Run.
Ensure that Windows and Doors are locked following events.
Maintenance Days:
Assisting with ship’s general maintenance, painting & windows, etc.
Learn to catch and tie the Ship’s lines (to be used @ boarding & disembarking) Learn Marine Safety Procedures.
Upkeep of boat to include cleaning and setting up for events.
Receive and put deliveries away to include food, beverage & dry goods.
Able to work:
Days, evenings, weekends and on statutory holidays.
Report to:
Cruise Director.
Traits:
Positive, hard-working, detail oriented, creative & team spirited.
Mandatory:
Attend Safety Day Training in May and be present for bi-weekly safety training on the boat.
In case of emergency the ability to Read & Speak English is mandatory.
Certifications:
Smart Serve of Ontario (Proof is Mandatory at time of Interview).
Experience:
Food Serving or Event experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
